Recently liberal political action committee MeidasTouch stated Fox News refused to air its ad condemning the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Instead, it now urged people to retweet the commercial.
MSNBC’s Brian Williams decided to one-up that and decided to show the advertisement spot for free to his viewers while mixing in some commentary.
“We have a pretty good reach too, so we’ve chosen to air it tonight,” Williams said. “While you watch, ask yourself what isn’t factual about it, which people in it aren’t real.”
The ad highlights the violent siege from a law enforcement’s view as they were defending the Capitol that day. Williams seems to be criticizing those trying to downplay the insurrection during the ad, including Fox News.
“It’s about the attempt to overturn our election ― the insurrection of 1-6 ― and the story is told by those in the fight,” Williams said.
MeidasTouch wanted to reserve approximately $185,000 of air time on Fox News airwaves between June 6 and June 15 dates, including seven days on “Fox and Friends,” the Los Angeles Times reported
