A lawsuit that accuses former Good Morning America producer Michael Corn of sexual assault and creating a toxic work environment apparently has the show’s stars at each other’s throats, according to the Daily Beast.
The website said co-hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts are feuding because Stephanopoulos reportedly knew about the allegations years ago and did nothing about it.
“If this happened to someone on my team, I would have burned the place down,” said Roberts during a team conference call.
Current producer Kirstyn Crawford filed the lawsuit last week alleging that Corn sexually assaulted her.
Stephanopoulos is reportedly angry with Roberts for her comments during the call. He has been off the air recently after his daughter was diagnosed with COVID-19.
ABC told the website that “Robin and George are fine” but multiple sources reveal ABC News has been “chaotic” since the lawsuit was announced.
The report said multiple staffers are now asking whether Stephanopoulos did enough to bring attention to the allegations against Corn.
The allegations against Corn were first raised in November 2017. Recently, ABC News President Kim Goodwin is calling for an independent investigation into allegations against Corn.
