Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan received the news on set that the New York Giants will retire his No. 92 jersey in a somewhat surprising matter that he didn’t expect coming.
During a segment in which the GMA crew discussed students returning to college, a box rolled out of the corner. Strahan’s co-hosts did their best to look confused as to why the prop was coming out.
Then, former Giants quarterback and a teammate of Strahan, Eli Manning, jumped out of the box with falling red, white, and blue confetti covering the stage. Furthermore, Manning wasn’t alone as Jessie Armstead and Justin Tuck appeared on set to surprise the GMA co-host.
“I’m still in shock. This is a moment I will always remember,” Strahan tweeted. “To the @Giants organization and fans. Let’s get Metlife Stadium rocking on 11.28! See you there!!”
The ceremony will occur on Nov. 28 when the Eagles visit MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.; however, there’s the possibility that the game could be flexed into a prime time slot.
