760 WJR Elevates Kevin Dietz To Full Time Hosting Role

Longtime Detroit reporter Kevin Dietz has been named full-time host at NewsTalk 760 WJR, he revealed on Twitter. Dietz has been hosting WJR Late Mornings since Frank Beckmann retired six months ago.

“I took a pretty cool new job! Working 9-noon Monday -Friday on WJR 760,” he said. “I remember JP McCarthy as a kid on this station! I am blessed.”

The Emmy award-winning investigative reporter spent nearly 30-years at Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV before he was fired in 2019 for making an alleged racial comment about another reporter.

“The station has a zero-tolerance policy on racially insensitive comments, and they determined, despite the intent and context of my statement, that it violated the policy,” he said at the time.

Dietz garnered 17 Emmy awards in 26 years at WDIV. He began his career in Traverse City, Michigan in 1988.
