A company that delivers commercial logs and other management solutions for thousands of radio stations said they are once again functioning about a week after a Russian criminal organization hacked its database.
The breach rendered Marketron helpless as the organization called BlackMatter demanded ransom from the company.
It’s unknown whether Marketron paid the group any money but in a statement to its clients last week, CEO Jim Howard confirmed that the company was communicating with BlackMatter and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“With the assistance of our third-party specialists, a state-of-the-art endpoint detection and response tool has been deployed to the environment, which is continuously monitored around the clock by security professionals,” said Vice President of Growth Marketing Bo Bandy.
Marketron supplies revenue generation and management solutions, ad tech and mobile advertising platforms, and an array of digital audience engagement tools to help drive new growth opportunities.
