NBCUniversal News Group has some new leadership as Stephen Labaton takes over the company’s executive vice president of communications position, per Deadline.
Labaton comes over from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he spent three years as an executive vice president for the management and information technology consulting firm.
“He brings a considerable amount of experience in media relations, crisis management, and brand-building and has a strong reputation for skillfully navigating high profile organizations through industry challenges and change,” Cesar Conde, chairman of the newsgroup, said.
“Prior to Booz Allen, he spent six years at a global strategic communications firm, Finsbury, where he was President-North America and chairman of its worldwide crisis practice.”
The new NBC News executive has experience working in news media, spending time with The New York Times, serving as a senior writer and correspondent. Labaton covered regulatory, legal, political, technology, and economic issues.
Labaton is officially joining NBC News on Monday, October 11th, and will report to Conde.
