Seattle talk show host Tom Tangney is retiring from Bonneville’s 97.3 KIRO next week.
Tangney co-hosts the Tom & Curley Show. He worked his way up from reporter, movie critic, and managing editor.
He teamed up with John Curley in 2014 to host 9 am-12 pm. The duo moved to the 3 pm-7 pm time slot.
“My life has been so enriched by working here at KIRO it’s been unbelievable, but it doesn’t do it justice by having a bunch of people who don’t really care or know you stand around and kind of applaud frivolity,” Tangney said during his show Monday.
“I’ve worked in radio for 30 years and been on talk shows for the last decade, and now I want to try other things. I want to travel, I want to read, I want to study and all these kinds of things.”
Tangney will broadcast his final show on Wednesday, Dec 1.
