WTIC News Talk’s Ray Dunaway Announces Retirement

Legendary morning show host Ray Dunaway is calling it quits following a 30-year-run at Audacy’s 1080 WTIC News Talk in Hartford, Connecticut. Dunaway made the announcement Monday and said his last day on the air will be on Christmas Eve.

“I want to thank you for listening since 1992 here at WTIC,” he said. “You are truly wonderful people, as are the staff here at Audacy. I can honestly say these friends are the best I’ve ever worked with.”

Dunaway joined WTIC in 1992, replacing Tom McCarthy. He joined the station from 98.1 KMBZ FM in Kansas City.

“It’s been a long, wonderful run, but having hosted morning shows since 1980, the time has come to sleep in (at least I hope I can),” said Dunaway. “

Stephanie Perl, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Hartford said Dunaway’s personality is synonymous with WTIC.
