Retiring Disney CEO Bob Iger last did the weather 48 years ago. However, Iger decided before heading into retirement at the end of this month; he’d like to give the weather forecast one last time.
During a morning broadcast on KABC in Los Angeles, Iger presented the forecast in what was a rainy Thursday for the city, so there was weather to report for the Disney CEO who was alongside meteorologist Leslie Lopez during the segment.
“There is light rain falling across the Southland this morning, expected to get just a little bit heavier as the jay — day — progresses,” Iger said. “This is just a prelude to a big storm that should be coming through the southland Monday and into Tuesday morning.”
“Very nippy on Saturday morning by the way. Sixty-two degrees in the Los Angeles area. The beaches — near where I live — Ooh, 46 degrees on Saturday morning. That’s when I bike ride. I think I’m going to have to watch out for some early-morning frost!”
Iger took to Twitter and graded his performance in delivering the forecast to the citizens of Los Angeles. “Decided to try out being a weatherman again, with KABC’s Leslie Sykes and @abc7leslielopez. Totally fun!” Iger tweeted.
“You did great!” Lopez and Sykes yelled together when the Disney CEO was done giving the forecast. Iger stated that he appreciates the two for the news coverage, considering he gets up in the early morning hours, and their telecast is the first news source he gets to begin his day.
“I get up about 4:15 in the morning and one of the first things I do in the morning is turn this show on. So you’re my first news and my best news for the day,” he told the duo. “My name’s not Leslie, but I still feel comfortable [here],” Iger said.
