Want to watch the biggest college football games of the season on the biggest screen in town? ESPN is teaming up with Cinemark to show the semi-finals and final of the College Football Playoff on screens in the company’s movie theaters across the country.
In all, 27 Cinemark theaters will carry the games. Those include Huntsville, AL, Detroit, MI, Atlanta, GA, and Cincinnati, OH so that the home fanbases of each of the four participating teams are served. Overall, Ohio and Texas, where Cinemark is headquartered, has the most opportunity with four theaters in each state carrying the games.
“We are thrilled to offer an incredible opportunity for college football fans to gather and cheer on their teams in our immersive auditoriums with larger-than-life screens and surround sound,” Justin McDaniel, Cinemark’s SVP of Global Content, said in a press release. “This collaboration with ESPN brings together the best in college football and exhibition for a one-of-a-kind viewing experience that will make people feel like they are part of the on-field action.”
Tickets are on sale today at each participating theater.
Action begin at 3:30 pm on New Year’s Eve when Alabama and Cincinnati meet in the Cotton Bowl. That will be followed by Michigan vs Georgia in the Orange Bowl. ESPN will carry both games along with the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, which will see the winners of those two games face off on January 10.
