This week, MSNBC Stephanie Ruhle announced that she was moving from her 9 a.m. time slot to host “The 11th Hour,” which has been vacant since the departure of Brian Williams late last year.
Nonetheless, the reason for Ruhle moving is due to the expansion of the network’s marquee morning show, “Morning Joe.” The program has an official date of when it goes from a three-hour show to a four.
On Monday, April 4th, “Morning Joe” will be celebrating its 15th year on MSNBC, which will kick off their new schedule as they’ll be on the air from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. ET, per Adweek.
This expansion is due to the cable news channel wanting to broaden the show’s reach on the West Coast. The program will continue to be hosted by Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist for all four hours.
As for Ruhle, her final broadcast in the time slot will be this Friday before she transitions to her new late-night host position on March 2nd. For the next few weeks, a rotating seat of guest host will anchor that 9 a.m time slot until “Morning Joe” expands in early April.
