Fox News’ weather channel, Fox Weather, is expanding, opening an Orlando bureau to accommodate the new FOX Weather Center, Sharri Berg, president of the service, announced in a press release.
The Orlando, Florida bureau will include a state-of-the-art production studio to conduct breaking news coverage of tropical storms. Furthermore, it provides live programming, weather updates, and forecasting, all led by digital meteorologists Katie Garner and Kelly Costa.
“As we continue to build FOX Weather into a premier service, we felt it was imperative to have the FOX Weather Center in Florida, enabling us to cover tropical storms and severe weather systems impacting the eastern seaboard,” Berg said.
“FOX35 Orlando has been a leader in forecasting, and this new bureau ensures our service will be well-positioned to cover hurricane season 2022 and beyond.”
Garner, who began with FOX Weather as a digital meteorologist in December, joined the platform from FOX affiliate WGHP-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she served as a meteorologist.
Meanwhile, Costa joins FOX Weather as a digital meteorologist from NBC affiliate WWLP in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she served as the station’s morning meteorologist.
