Overnight Cable Ratings Show Fox News Outpacing Competition

The overnight cable news ratings indicate that Fox News outpaced its competitors in key demographic and total viewership numbers in a press release obtained by Barrett News Media.

According to data released by Nielsen Media, between the hours of 8-11 PM/ET, FNC was the top-rated network across the board, earning 3,360,000 million viewers and 602,000 in the demo in primetime.

Shannon Bream garnered the top-rated slot in the key 25-54 demographic in all of cable, earning 723,000 and 2,926,000 in overall viewers.

At 1 AM/ET, Trace Gallagher delivered over 1.4 million viewers and 378,000 in the 25-54 demographic. Since post-election coverage, the 2 AM/ET hour marked its most-watched day in the time slot (11/5/20). Notably, FNC’s overnight coverage outpaced the cable news competition in the younger demo during the hours of 1 AM – 3 AM/ET hours.

Additionally, the network secured its highest-rated day in both categories. FNC also comprised the top 15 cable telecasts in total viewers and beat out CNN, and MSNBC combined across the board.

  1. I called my cable.provider to see if I could cut CNN, AND MORNING JOE OUT OF MY PROGRAMMING. Unfortunately it.is not.possible. I don’t even want them listed on my guide.
