ABC News to Air One-Hour Special on the Pandemic’s 2nd Year

It’s been two years since Covid-19 entered the lives of everyone on earth. With cases dropping in states and mandates being lifted, ABC News is rolling out a one-hour primetime special, which will be anchored by “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts.

“24 Months That Changed the World” examines how COVID-19 disrupted and constructed lasting transformation across all facets of human life. In the United States, the virus has nearly claimed 1 million lives and over 6 million lives lost globally.

The ABC News special will also report on the victims and their families, how the pandemic amplified a mental health concern among young people, and tales of strength and hope.

“The program explores COVID-19’s impact on industries such as healthcare, with the development of a vaccine in record time and the rise of telehealth; business, with the wave of American workers quitting their jobs as part of the “The Great Resignation” and the explosion of small businesses; and entertainment,” the statement said

“The special also takes a look at individuals who made big life choices and moved to new locations, the increase in multigenerational households, those who found love in lockdown and marriages that ended in divorce.”

Joining Roberts in this ABC News special report will be chief medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton, senior national affairs correspondent Deborah Roberts, chief business, technology, and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, and contributor Chris Connelly.

“24 Months That Changed the World” premieres on a special edition of “20/20” Wednesday, March 30.
