NAB Show Attendance Will Reportedly Be Near Half of 2019’s Convention

The NAB Show is right around the corner as it opens this coming Saturday in Las Vegas, but the show will take some precautions as the world gradually gets back to normalcy.

Consumer Electronics Daily relayed the remarks made by a spokesperson from the NAB, stating that they will have roughly 55% of the attendance of the last in-person show in 2019.

Despite the cut in attendance, a 50%-60% post-pandemic attendance “would still be a home run,” Cromwell Group CEO Bayard “Bud” Walters stated.

Furthermore, although attendance won’t be at total capacity, it’s not going to decrease the number of would-be radio dealmakers anticipated to meet up with representatives at the Encore and Wynn hotels, which will be a steady number.

“In a normal year, we usually have 40 to 60 meetings,” media broker Larry Patrick revealed to Consumer Electronics Daily. “This year, I have the same amount.”

This year’s NAB Show will also mark the first for FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel. However, not are expecting her to provide any groundbreaking news or announcements from the Commission.
