Peter Doocy to Jen Psaki After Announcing Her Exit: “Sorry to See You Go”

Jen Psaki is exiting her role as the White House Press Secretary on May 13th, where she’ll be replaced by her deputy, Karine Jean-Pierre. Upon leaving, Psaki will join MSNBC, but no start date has been announced on that front yet.

With Psaki leaving the position she’s held for the last 18 months, it puts an end to the clashes she’s had with Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy. Despite the sparring the two have done at the briefings, they shared a rare, light-hearted moment.

“Thank you, Jen,” Doocy said. “Sorry to see you go.”

“Are you?” she reacted, and the room busted out into a laugh. “Yes, and you’ve always been a good sport,” Doocy replied. “So, on behalf of everybody, thank you for everything.”

Doocy looked at Jean-Pierre and told her, “Can’t wait to see you up there, Karine.”

The light-hearted moment didn’t last long as he proceeded to ask Psaki regarding President Joe Biden slamming Trump supporters as “extreme” and whether leftist activists publicizing the addresses of Supreme Court justices entitles to such.
