Twitter Granting Elon Musk Access to Its Raw Data to Complete Deal

The Twitter-Elon Musk saga continues as the latest chapter in the Tesla CEO’s attempt to buy the social media platform has stalled over his questions regarding the prevalence of fake accounts.

Musk argues that Twitter has significantly underestimated the number of these “spam bots” on the outlet. However, it seems as though the social media platform is ready to hand over data to proceed with the deal which the two parties initially struck in April.

According to multiple reports, Twitter plans to present Musk access to its “firehose” of raw data on hundreds of millions of daily tweets to finalize the $44-billion deal. However, there’s also information that the entrepreneur will only receive partial access.

Twitter’s proposed access is an attempt to rebuff Musk’s attempts to utilize the spam bot problem to cast doubt on the agreement’s future. The company’s CEO, Parag Agrawal, has stated that Twitter has consistently calculated that less than 5% of its accounts are spam.

Nonetheless, Musk has argued that figure, and this week, lawyers for Musk accused the social media platform of restricting the surrender of information about the number of bot accounts on Twitter.
