USA Today Journalist Resigns After Audit Shows Inaccurate, Falsified Reporting

The USA Today found itself in some hot water after the newspaper had to audit a journalist’s work. Some people cited were not affiliated with the organizations claimed and appeared falsified.

After USA Today received an external request, the media outlet did an audit report into the reporting of Gabriela Miranda. The investigation resulted in removing 23 articles from its website and other platforms for not meeting our editorial standards.

“The existence of other individuals quoted could not be independently verified. In addition, some stories included quotes that should have been credited to others,” USA Today said in a statement

“We strive to be accurate and factual in all our content and regret this situation. We will continue to reinforce and strengthen our reporting and editing diligence and processes.”

Furthermore, the audit has led to Miranda resigning as a reporter for USA Today and the USA Today Network.
