ABC’s “The View” has a couple of co-hosts that have slammed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his policies in the past, but it appears as though the panel wants the politician on the show.
Deputy Press Secretary for DeSantis’ team, Bryan Griffin, posted their email response to Twitter on Wednesday after passing on the offer and challenged the nature of the invitation from the daytime show.
“But are the hosts of the View really interested in hearing from Governor DeSantis about all of the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their health and livelihoods, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom?” Griffin wrote.
Griffin then pointed out in the email to “The View” the four examples of when the show’s hosts were critical of DeSantis.
“Which of the below statements from the hosts of ‘The View’ do you recommend our team consider when deciding if the interview will be a genuine pursuit of the truth? Or worth the time?” Griffin wrote.
One of the examples that the email highlighted was when in April 2022, host Ana Navarro discussed the governor’s policies and said, “it’s anti-Black, it’s anti-gay, it’s anti-LGBTQ+ community, and for some reason, the Republican base responds to it.”
“We will pass on this offer,” the letter from DeSantis’ team finishes.
