Shannon Bream is sharing a piece of advice to young broadcasters and journalists after Fox News announced that she would be taking over “Fox News Sunday.”
Bream shared the first time she was fired from a job in television by a man who told the Fox News host that she “was the worst person he’d ever seen on TV.”
“Y’all, I got fired from my first tv job by a man who told me I was the worst person he’d ever seen on tv,” Bream tweeted on Saturday. “He also told me I’d never make it in this business. I was humiliated. I was humiliated. I cried … a lot. I prayed … a lot. That man did me a favor.”
Rather than give up on being in news media, Bream said she reached out to anyone who could help offer her some advice on how to improve to ensure a future in television.
“I had much to learn, and as I spent months getting anyone to return an email or a call I watched my tapes and got real with myself,” Beam added. “There is always room for improvement, and believe me I needed it.”
Fast forward, and now Bream will be the first woman to anchor “Fox News Sunday,” with her first show airing on Sept. 11.
