Jon Phillips Exits as iHeartMedia Oklahoma Area President

Changes are coming to the iHeartMedia Oklahoma division as Jon Phillips has departed his Area President position with the company to join Youth Scoreboards as CEO.

Phillips, who played football at the University of Oklahoma, will reunite with his former coach Barry Switzer. Phillips is joining a company that Switzer and Mike Henry founded to place advertiser-funded video scoreboards at youth sports complexes.

“There are a few titles missing as roles changed but most radio jobs I have had for the past 33 years are right here,” Phillips said in a Facebook post on Thursday. “So many great memories and great friends made. Thanks to iHeart for the last 10. I will miss these people like crazy.

“I am off to a new chapter, outside of broadcasting, with an entrepreneur twist. Next stop, CEO of Youth Scoreboards where I will partner with three of my favorite people, Barry Switzer, Mike Henry and Tom Russell. Stay tuned.”

Before joining iHeartMedia in 2012, Phillips was the General Manager for Renda Broadcasting Tulsa from 2007 to 2012. He also held other positions, including General Sales Manager for KLUV Dallas and the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network and National Sales Manager for Entercom Kansas City.
