When Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, some of the sit-down discussion between the two was never supposed to be revealed to the public.
The leak of never-aired clips surfaced on Twitter courtesy of Vice’s Motherboard. Now The Daily Beast’s newsletter, Confider, which Barrett News Media obtained, reports that Fox News executives are “full-on freaked out” regarding who leaked the videos.
Confider adds that the network is zeroing in on the “mole” who was the source of the violation.
“This new leaker learned from my mistakes,” Joe Muto, Bill O’Reilly’s then-associate producer, told Confider.
Muto was at the source of the last time Fox News dealt with a significant video breach as he leaked clips to Gawker in 2012.
“The main reason I got caught is that I wasn’t covering my digital trail particularly well,” Muto added. “They’re obviously doing a better job than I did if they haven’t been found yet.
“It seems this leaker has found a way around that.”
The newsletter also said they would like to reach out to whoever leaked the clips and added that a Fox News spokesperson declined to comment on the issue.
