Podcast listenership continues to grow; some prefer to listen over live radio, considering the convenience it gives the listener of hearing a program whenever they want. Nonetheless, Curtis Sliwa has no time for this platform.
On Sunday’s episode of “The Curtis Sliwa Show,” the 77 WABC host went off on why he’ll never consider appearing on any podcast regardless of who the host is.
“I don’t like podcasts,” Sliwa said. “I’m not doing your podcast. I’m going to say something there that is going to spread virally that will destroy everything I’ve done in my life.
“I’m going to go on your podcast and potentially destroy everything I’ve worked so hard for because you are telling me I need to be on.”
Additionally, the reason why Sliwa doesn’t see himself appearing on anyone’s podcast is that him having the ability to appear on live radio, which for his old-school way of thinking, is perfect.
“I don’t need your freaking podcast,” Sliwa added. “I do live radio. I’m old school. You hear it live and local because you may not hear it again from me, because it’s a stream of consciousness. There’s no blocks here. I pour it out.”
