Former President Donald Trump is running for president again, putting him further into the spotlight, where fellow Republicans will be asked questions from the media leading up to the race for the Republican nominee.
While those in the party cannot escape questions about Trump, WSB radio host Erick Erick put together a remark that Republicans should follow whenever they’re asked about the former president.
“Republicans, this isn’t hard,” Erickson said on Twitter, followed up with the response many should lean on. “‘I’m not focused on the former president and contemptible dinner companions. I’m focused on the future, the economy, crime, the border — things that matter.'”
It will be interesting to see whether other Republicans follow this advice, as Trump isn’t one to shy away from controversy, leading to many having to respond to his actions.
As a result, some in the party could lean toward another candidate, such as current Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
