Virginia-based radio host Jeff Katz shared his personal journey of weight loss during the “Glenn Beck Show” Tuesday. Katz said he was warned by his doctor if he didn’t make serious lifestyle changes that he was going to die.
“He told me that I was obese and that I was going to die; that was a wakeup call,” Katz said. “It was a gigantic slap across my pudgy, greasy face.”
Katz said immediately after the visit he started eating less and exercising more. He said he eventually got to a point where he was happy and healthy.
“I’m not telling anybody else that you need to do this or that; I’m just saying that we have to be honest with ourselves.”
According to his website, Katz grew up in Philadelphia and was destined for a career as an attorney until his father suffered a heart attack and Jeff took a different path so that he could help support his family.
He graduated from the police academy class and then served as a police officer in Philadelphia until he traded in his badge for a microphone.
“There are some things that you are supposed to be honest about, your health should be one of them.”
Katz has been filling in for Glenn Beck this week. He can be heard regularly on Richmond’s News & Talk WRVA. He’s also hosted award-winning shows in Charlotte and Boston.
