Axios has reported that Tucker Carlson is seeking assistance from his allies to pressure Fox News into allowing him to work for a right-wing competitor or start his own platform. This information comes from sources close to Carlson.
Carlson has hired entertainment lawyer Bryan Freedman in response to the contract dispute. Freedman has stated that it is ridiculous to believe that anyone can silence Carlson or prevent him from addressing his audience.
“The idea that anyone is going to silence Tucker and prevent him from speaking to his audience is beyond preposterous,” Feldman told Axios.
This conflict between Carlson and Fox News has significant implications for the conservative news industry. Fox has experienced a decline in ratings during Carlson’s time slot since his departure and is attempting to sideline him by offering him a $20 million annual salary not to work.
Much speculation surrounds Tucker Carlson’s plans to establish his own media empire. However, he requires Fox News to release him from his contract, which expires in January 2025, after the presidential election. It has been reported that other outlets, such as Rumble and Newsmax, have offered Carlson a higher salary than his current Fox contract.
Furthermore, Carlson has allegedly had conversations about working with Elon Musk, although the details of these discussions remain unknown.
Carlson’s close associates have stated that he is considering creating a direct-to-consumer media outlet where his large fan base can pay to view his content. This idea is similar to that of his predecessor in the same time slot, Bill O’Reilly.
After being released from Fox, Carlson posted a Twitter video at 8:00 PM ET teasing his audience with the message “See you soon.” The two-minute clip has since received 24 million views.
One of Carlson’s sources, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed that the ousted host “knows where a lot of bodies are buried and is ready to start drawing a map.”
Carlson’s allies, who have connections with major platforms, are reportedly preparing to launch an attack on Fox for attempting to sideline him. Additionally, those from Trumpworld, known for their combative style of politics, stand by to support Carlson.
