Yesterday, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced he was launching a new version of his television program on Twitter. In the coverage of his announcement, CNN tweeted a link to a story written by Oliver Darcy that labeled Carlson a “right-wing extremist”.
The network has also been condemned by some on the other side of the political aisle for continuing with its New Hampshire town hall event featuring former President Donald Trump. A New York jury found Trump liable for damages in a civil suit brought forth by E. Jean Carroll who alleges Trump sexual assaulted then defamed her in the 1990s.
That characterization of Carlson didn’t sit well with conservative media members, who defended him against the label. Many also criticized CNN for its own biases in news coverage.
