After more than 20 years at WFLA Orlando, Bud Hedinger has retired from the station’s morning show.
Hedinger came to the station in 2003 and moved to mornings in 2009. He previously spent time in local television, working in Syracuse for 25 years before spending time in both Nashville and Orlando before a shift to radio.
“I am what I seldom am: all but speechless,” Hedinger said in a video posted to the station’s Facebook page. “Full of gratitude and love for the opportunity I’ve had here at iHeartRadio and News Radio WFLA. To the untold thousands of people that populate the 50,000-watt front porch, I’ll miss you all. But I’ll never forget you. Thanks for the memories.”
Good Morning Orlando will now be hosted by Simon Conway, who comes to the Sunshine State after being regionally syndicated by iHeartMedia in Iowa on 1040 who in Des Moines, 600 WMT in Cedar Rapids, and 1420 WOC in Davenport.
Conway began his radio career at the 540 WFLF — branded as WFLA Orlando now — in 2001 with a weekend real-estate show. A United Kingdom native, Conway eventually joined WHO Radio in 2011. However, he hosted Good Morning Orlando for Bud Hedinger for three weeks last March and April after the longtime host underwent triple bypass surgery.

Nothing but silence from the Tv stations Bud worked at. Speaks volumes about how Bud must have treated his coworkers. He won’t be missed. Phony.
