620 WTMJ Honors Jeff Wagner Before Final Show

Longtime 620 WTMJ host Jeff Wagner is calling it a career after Friday’s show, and the Good Karma Brands-owned station celebrated Wagner before he said farewell.

A celebration was held Wednesday evening honoring Wagner’s 25-year contribution to the Milwaukee news/talk station.

Wagner was appreciative of the recognition. In a post to X, the longtime host wrote “Thanks to all my teammates and friends who showed up tonight (and said so many nice things) and a sincere thanks to Good Karma Brands for hosting a wonderful retirement party.”

After joining WTMJ as a part-time host in 1998, Jeff Wagner began hosting a full-time show in November of that year.

“No show runs forever, and it has been an honor and a pleasure to host a daily radio talk show in my hometown for a quarter century,” Wagner said in a statement announcing his retirement in October.

“I am extremely grateful to Good Karma Brands, my teammates (past and present), our partners, and most importantly, our fans for all their support over the years. While I’m excited to see what comes next, I will truly miss the daily interaction with listeners about the issues of the day.”

“Jeff is a broadcasting legend whose daily wisdom and dedication to the station was felt by our audience throughout his entire career,” added Greg Scalzo, Market Manager for Good Karma Brands Milwaukee, said at the time. “His retirement marks the end of an era, and we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.”

Wagner is departing his midday show as one of the best shows in America. Earlier this week, Wagner finished in third place in Barrett News Media’s Top 20 Mid Market Midday Shows of 2023.
