Longtime Coast to Coast AM weekend host and regular fill-in host Ian Punnett has died.
Punnett had been with the program since 2000 and was the regular weekend host, podcast host, and began hosting the long-running overnight program twice a month recently. Additionally, Punnett had launched a spin-off show called Coast to Coast Live with Ian Punnett.
“Ian was a beloved member of our Coast to Coast AM family for more than 20 years. He was fun, entertaining and a very dear friend. I will miss him immensely,” said host George Noory. “Our hearts go out to his loved ones, and the many fans who also suffer this tremendous loss.”
Ian Punnett began his radio career in rock radio, hosting a program in the Quad Cities before shifting to a station in Nashville in the early 90s. He began his talk radio career at WGN in 1994 before moving to Atlanta in 1997. He concluded his run in local radio in the Twin Cities before joining the Coast to Coast AM crew.
“I’ve had the privilege of producing for Ian these past 24 years, and I will miss our friendship and the professional collaboration,” wrote Lisa Lyon, Executive Producer of Coast to Coast AM, in a post to the show’s website announcing Punnett’s death. “Every conversation behind the scenes was as lively and entertaining and everything we strive for on the air. Ian was great radio personified.
He is survived by his wife and former on-air partner, Margery, and two sons. He was 63.
