In just over 60 days we will return to the Ailey Theater in New York City for the 2024 BSM Summit. The event brings together some of the sharpest executives, programmers, talent and business leaders in sports media, and tickets are on sale now on BSMSummit.com. Don’t wait until the last minute to secure your seat or book your room. It may result in not being able to accommodate you. Everything you need is listed on the conference website.
We have previously announced more than 20 speakers for this year’s show and are excited today to add 4 more dynamic leaders to our lineup. It’s a pleasure to welcome SiriusXM‘s VP of Sports Programming Eric Spitz, Sports Radio 94WIP Brand Manager Rod Lakin, Overtime Chief Content Officer Marc Kohn, and WWE‘s VP of Digital, Steve Braband to the BSM Summit. Kohn and Braband will be part of an awesome social panel with ESPN’s Omar Raja. Spitz will be part of a national panel alongside Justin Craig, Scott Shapiro and Spike Eskin. Lakin will join a local PD panel with a few names still to be announced.
I’m equally excited to share that Good Karma Brands has signed on as our Networking Breaks sponsor, and that ESPN Radio will continue to present the BSM Summit After Party. The after party has been a big hit at our conferences for years. This year’s event will be held where it was in 2020, at All Stars Sports Bar and Grill. This is a private event, which can only be attended by Summit attendees and speakers. The last time we held the event at All Stars it went great. I’m glad to have the after party taking place there again but more importantly, have ESPN Radio and Good Karma Brands involved again as partners.
Programmers, executives, digital leaders, and talent are always well represented at our shows but I’d like to see more salespeople, media buyers, and market managers in the room. We get some but not enough. This is a two-day event designed to educate even the most seasoned professionals in the industry. All of us benefit by learning the tactics and strategies needed to have audio, video, social, events, sports betting, and sales success, and hearing how the best and brightest in the business are tackling the challenges and opportunities in front of them.
Our industry won’t grow by relying on old ideas and knowledge. Being exposed to new ideas, new information, new partnerships, and new relationships should appeal to every single person working in sports media in 2024. We self-fund this Summit to benefit the industry, and it only works if people are in the room, and invested in making the business better.
I hope you’ll join us on March 13-14, 2024 for what should be another action packed show. Once again, tickets can be purchased at BSMSummit.com.
