Record-Setting Viewership Streaks for ESPN Shows Continue

The studio shows on ESPN continue their meteoric rise in viewership. According to data from ESPN, Get Up, First Take, and The Pat McAfee Show all recorded their most-watched months in Jan. 2024. This follows news that all three shows recorded their most-watched episodes ever on Jan. 15.

Get Up averaged 500,000 viewers for January, a 12 percent increase year-over-year. This topped the previous high set in Nov. 2023 of 467,00 viewers. 979,000 viewers tuned in to the Jan. 15 episode of the program, its highest viewership total ever.

First Take reported its viewership records for Jan. 2024 and announced it was the most-watched month in the show’s history. This propelled the show to an 18th straight month of year-over-year viewership.

The show averaged 680,000 viewers in Jan. 2024, an increase of 21 percent from last year and 11 percent higher than its previous record set in Nov. 2023. The last three months of Nov.-Jan. are First Take’s second, third, and most-watched months on record, respectively.

Lastly, The Pat McAfee Show rounds out the winning month across ESPN’s pillar programs scoring its most-watched month ever. Since its start on ESPN platforms last September, the show has seen a steady viewership increase each month and started the new year with record highs including the two most-watched episodes to date on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16.

McAfee drew an average of 390,000 live viewers on linear and combined with its live simulcast on YouTube, increased its average daily viewership to 506,000 per show in January – a 28 percent year-over-year increase compared to the same time slot.
