CNN Promotes Paul Murphy and Natasha Bertrand to New Roles

CNN announced on Tuesday the promotions of Paul P. Murphy and Natasha Bertrand. Murphy will be transitioning to a reporter role while Bertrand begins her new position as a correspondent.

Murphy will continue to be based in New York, focusing on the convergence of real-time news, open-source intelligence reporting (OSINT), satellite imagery analysis, and public records investigation.

He started at CNN as an intern in 2013 and later became a producer with CNN’s Social Discovery team. He has reported on a variety of significant stories for CNN, such as the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting and the death of George Floyd in 2020.

Bertrand’s new role will see her become CNN’s correspondent covering national security. She’ll based in Washington, DC, and will continue to focus on national security and politics across the network’s platforms.

During her time at CNN, Bertrand has broke a variety of stories including the widespread use of dumb bombs by Israel in Gaza and the extent of secrecy surrounding Secretary Austin’s hospitalization.

Before coming to the three-letter network, Bertrand covered national security and politics for POLITICO, The Atlantic, and Business Insider.
