The uniforms worn by both the American League and National League in last night’s MLB All-Star Game were not popular. But 92.3 The Fan afternoon host Dustin Fox doesn’t think that needs to translate into sports radio discussions about them.
While discussing the All-Star Game Wednesday, the topic of the uniforms was broached by co-host Nick Wilson. Dustin Fox couldn’t believe that people cared enough to turn that into a topic for sports radio.
“They’re fine. Everyone this morning was going crazy about these all-star uniforms,” said Fox, before saying he understands people have preferences and that tradition matters in baseball, but thought the idea that talking about it was preposterous.
“That, to me, is crazy. Who the hell cares?,” Fox added.
Wilson pointed out that the topic was an early one discussed by colleagues Ken Carman and Anthony Lima during Wednesday morning’s program.
“I am not contributing to your feud with Ken. I’m not doing it,” Wilson said with a chuckle. “If I want to pick a fight with someone, I’ll pick my own damn fight. I totally empathize with Ken, because he was just trying to get into a conversation.”
The 92.3 The Fan morning show wasn’t the only sports radio show discussing the MLB All-Star uniforms on Wednesday. Several shows around the nation — most with similar sentiments that the uniforms are atrocious and the league needs to revert to each player wearing their individual uniforms — had discussions on the topic.
