Today, Apple announced the launch of Apple Podcasts on the web. The announcement means the powerful app will have new features available across major browsers including Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
The new web feature allows users with an Apple Account to browse, subscribe, and queue podcasts from their browser of choice. The dedicated web experience eases the discovery process for already established shows, allowing users to see programs they subscribe to on the new interface rather than utilizing a search engine to find their favorite programs.
Additionally, listeners can now sync their Apple Account to the web feature to pause a podcast on another Apple device, and seamlessly pick up where they left off on another one.
The new integration is available in 170 countries worldwide. With the new enhancements, Apple Podcasts is now on par with Apple Music and Apple TV, which have previously featured their own dedicated web app versions.
The introduction of podcasts on the web comes a month after Apple introduced a web version of Apple Maps to compete with Google Maps.
