Netflix has announced their documentary on longtime WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will debut on September 25. The docuseries will be in six parts and is said to “chronicle the rise and fall” of McMahon who built WWE into a behemoth, only to later have to resign from the company amid sexual assault and misconduct allegations.
‘Mr. McMahon’ is produced and directed by Chris Smith, most famous for working on the big Netflix hit Tiger King. The executive producer is The Ringer’s Bill Simmons.
In a release, Smith said, “The goal behind ‘Mr. McMahon’ was to pull back the curtain and reveal the true Vince McMahon, obscured beneath the persona he presented to the world. Over the four years of production, the story evolved in truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely harrowing allegations. The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and nuanced portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind.”
McMahon made a brief return to WWE, but he once again resigned in January 2024.
