According to the company, Elder spoke with 27 experts about the rise of electric vehicles, and concerns about environmental, ethical, and national security risks. Included in those interviewed for the film include former and current employees of Toyota and Chrysler, as well as the Center for Industrial Progress’ Alex Epstein.

“This film is not just about cars,” said Larry Elder, “It’s a long-overdue conversation about the way we will ultimately choose to shape our future. Electric Vehicles: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is a must-see for anyone who wants to explore and understand the complexities of the EV revolution, before choosing to buy one and potentially impacting the world.”

The company insists the documentary isn’t one-sided. “It offers a truly balanced conversation about what could be the most significant revolution in American transportation history,” a statement reads.

Early reviews of the documentary have been largely positive. On IMDb, the film has an 8.8 rating.

It is not the first documentary Elder has participated in. In 2020, he was the executive producer of Uncle Tom. That film features an 8.2 rating on IMDb. The film features a collection of prominent Black conservatives like Elder, Brandon Tatum, Jesse Peterson, Herman Cain, and Allen West, among others.
