The Buffalo Bills will be spotlighted on the training camp edition of Hard Knocks from HBO and NFL Films, making its debut on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 9 p.m. EST/PST. This five-part series will be highlighting the Bills for the first time featuring quarterback Josh Allen, head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane. The Bills have made the playoffs for the last six straight seasons but have failed to advance beyond the conference championship, and the series will document the start of a quest to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.
Once this iteration of the series concludes on Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Hard Knocks enterprise will make its return in December with an in-season edition of the show featuring teams within the NFC East division. Consisting of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington Commanders and defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, viewers will receive behind-the-scenes access to players and personnel amid the playoff push. Some of the stars that will be featured in this series include Dak Prescott, Malik Nabers, Jayden Daniels and Saquon Barkley, marking the second edition of the divisional format following its debut last year with the AFC North.
“We are thrilled to provide ‘Hard Knocks’ fans a summer with the Bills and winter with the Cowboys, Giants, Commanders and Eagles in the first year of our exciting new deal with NFL Films,” Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller, co-executive vice presidents of documentary and family programming at HBO, along with Bentley Weiner, senior vice president of HBO sports documentaries, said in a joint statement. “There will be no shortage of star power.”
Both of these new installments within the Hard Knocks franchise will be produced under a new multiyear deal between HBO and NFL Films. Moreover, the series will be narrated by Liev Schreiber, who has been the voice of Hard Knocks for nearly every edition of the program.
“There aren’t many shows in history that have had a successful 25-year run,” Ross Ketover, senior executive at NFL Films, said in a statement. “We are thrilled that the partnership between NFL Films and HBO – which has captivated football fans for so long – will continue years into the future.”
