CNN Anchor Jake Tapper Says Biden Health Cover up May Be Worse Than Watergate

“It is a scandal. It is without question, and maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways."

CNN anchor Jake Tapper has been making the media rounds surrounding his book “Original Sin,” which chronicles the potential cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s health while in office. Several excerpts from the book state that many in the White House thought Biden was showing routine signs of a man who was suffering from cognitive decline, including forgetting names of aides and celebrity supporters such as George Clooney.

Moreover, Tapper was a guest of Piers Morgan Uncensored over the holiday weekend and compared the scandal involving Biden’s health to Watergate.

“It is a scandal. It is without question, and maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways,” said Tapper.

Furthermore, the CNN anchor explained the reasoning for the Watergate mention was to clarify that the events surrounding Biden were a completely different scandal, but for comparison’s sake could be considered worse than what happened during Watergate.

“Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties when he wasn’t drinking. We don’t mean to exonerate,” noted Tapper. “The only reason we have the Watergate thing there is because we quote Archibald Cox, who was a Watergate investigator, talking about how powerful the Presidency is and how Presidents get surrounded by people who have a vested interest in keeping that President propped up.”

During the appearance, the veteran CNN anchor also said several people played a key role in keeping Biden’s health a secret, including his wife Jill, who was “enamored” with the lifestyle of being the First Lady.

In addition, the detailed book, which was co-authored by Alex Thompson, brought out claims that the former President was faltering physically and cognitively in decline that was hidden from the public. Biden stepped aside from his bid for a second term for the Presidency following a poor performance in a head-to-head debate with President Donald Trump. Subsequently, Vice President Kamala Harris took over the Democratic nomination but eventually lost to Trump in November of last year.
