Longtime 670 The Score host and reporter Mark Grote is joining the Rahimi and Harris Show on a daily basis, the station announced Friday. Grote, a familiar voice to Chicago sports fans, will officially start Monday, bringing his decades of experience and on-air energy to the program.
During football season, Grote will broadcast live from the 670 The Score studios on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, he will make multiple appearances from Halas Hall, the Chicago Bears’ team headquarters, to provide in-depth coverage during the league’s busiest content days.
“Mark brings a deep knowledge of the Score brand, a fun personality, and a long-standing friendship with Leila, and great on-air banter with Marshall and Leila” said Mitch Rosen, Vice President of 670 The Score and BetMGM Network in a statement . “Mark is beloved by our audience and teammates alike. Adding Mark’s presence on a daily basis is a huge addition to the show.”
The addition of Grote is part of the Rahimi and Harris Show’s ongoing evolution. Rahimi was named the full time host of the program this past April. Following the departure of Dan Bernstein from the radio outlet in March.
“I am so happy. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be,” said Grote following the announcement.
Grote has been a fixture at the Score for years, covering Chicago sports and cultivating a loyal following. In addition to his new daily appearances, he will continue delivering Bears “hits” on other shows and covering home games for the team, ensuring fans stay up to date with the latest news from Soldier Field.
Rahimi expressed her excitement for the addition to the program on a full time basis.
“The midday show has had a third microphone for many years now. I feel like it’s a natural extension of what we are doing,” said Rahimi. “Mark, you’ve been a welcome extension at the Score for many years.”
Fans can tune in to the Rahimi and Harris Show every weekday to catch Grote’s insights and live reports. With his combination of experience, personality, and commitment to Chicago sports, Grote is expected to become an integral part of the show’s daily rhythm.
“It means a lot,” said Grote. “Thank you to everybody.”
