ESPN 1320 Shifts Lineup To Expand Local Programming

"We’re doubling down on the local insight and personality that defines Northern California sports radio."

ESPN 1320, an Audacy station in Sacramento, is rolling out a revamped weekday programming lineup designed to deepen its local focus while sharpening its on-air personality. The changes take effect February 2 and reflect a strategic shift toward original, market-driven content during key listening hours.

The most notable addition is The Jump, a new morning show co-hosted by Kyle Madson and Jesse Tapia. Airing weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. PT, the program will lean heavily into caller participation, strong opinions, and a consistent emphasis on local teams.

The show will also re-air from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. PT as The Jump: Rewind, giving the station another opportunity to showcase its morning content during middays.

For Tapia, the move represents a significant milestone. While he has been a longtime behind-the-scenes presence as producer of D-Lo and KC, The Jump marks his first role as a regular on-air host. He will continue producing the afternoon show while expanding his presence on the microphone.

“Jesse brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for sports, and we’re excited to evolve our lineup with the launch of The Jump, bringing high-energy to Sacramento mornings,” Madson said in a statement. “By moving the unmatched wit of D-Lo & KC to the full afternoon drive and having James as our Kings Insider across all shows, we’re doubling down on the local insight and personality that defines Northern California sports radio.”

The afternoon drive adjustment is another key piece of the lineup shift. D-Lo and KC, hosted by Damien Barling and Kenny Caraway, moves into the 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT slot. The show has built a loyal audience through its mix of sports talk, humor, and pop culture, and the new time period positions it as the station’s primary afternoon offering.

In addition, James Ham is expanding his role with the station as its Sacramento Kings insider. Ham will spearhead coverage of the NBA franchise and provide weekly updates, analysis, and breaking news on both The Jump and D-Lo and KC.

The move further reinforces ESPN 1320’s commitment to local team coverage as a cornerstone of its programming strategy.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity,” Tapia said. “Hosting is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid, and I can’t wait to be on air with Kyle talking sports and just having fun on the radio.”
