iHeartMedia Washington, D.C. has named Lisa Berigan the new mid-day host at BIG100. She steps into the role immediately.
What We Know: Berigan joins BIG100 — “DC’s Classic Rock” — in the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. slot, Monday through Friday. Notably, this is a return engagement; she previously held this exact position through October 2024. She will also continue her on-air presence at both 97.1 WASH-FM and 98.7 WMZQ. Berigan reports directly to Dustin Matthews, Director of Rock Programming for iHeartMedia Washington, D.C.
What They Said: Matthews wasted no words in his praise. “No one connects with the DMV like Lisa Berigan,” he said. “Her passion for this music, authentic storytelling and deep connection with listeners have made her a trusted companion for Washington audiences for years.” Berigan, meanwhile, kept it simple and personal: “Coming back to BIG 100 truly feels like coming home.”
What Remains Unclear: The circumstances behind Berigan’s October 2024 departure have not been addressed publicly. Additionally, whether her roles at WASH-FM and WMZQ will shift in scope remains unstated. No long-term contract details were disclosed.
What It Means: This move signals that iHeartMedia is doubling down on familiar, trusted voices in a competitive market. Furthermore, Berigan’s multi-station presence gives the company a unified personality across its D.C. portfolio. For listeners, the return means a recognizable voice is back curating the workday soundtrack. Simply put, iHeartMedia is betting on connection over novelty.
