Hubbard Seattle has hired Israel “Izzy” Nunnelly as the new weekday afternoon host for MOViN 92.5 KQMV-FM. He starts July 20th.
What We Know: Nunnelly comes to Seattle from American Media’s KCAR-FM in Joplin, Missouri, where he hosted afternoons. He brings an interactive, phone-heavy approach to the role. His show is built around listener participation and real-time engagement. MOViN 92.5 is one of Seattle’s most recognized radio brands.
What They Said: Cat Thomas, Brand and Content Director for MOViN 92.5 and Warm 106.9, praised Nunnelly’s instincts immediately. “Radio has changed in many ways, but engaging and entertaining talent will always be our difference maker,” Thomas said. Nick Beyer, President and Market Manager of Hubbard Seattle, added that Nunnelly’s listener-first style fills a noticeable gap. “That kind of listener connection has been missing from a lot of modern radio, and Izzy brings it back in a way that feels fresh, natural, and completely in step with MOViN,” Beyer said.
What Remains Unclear: It’s not yet known what specific content or features Nunnelly will bring to the afternoon show. His exact timeslot within afternoon drive has not been announced. Additionally, whether any programming changes will accompany his arrival remains to be seen.
What It Means: Landing a major market gig in Seattle is a massive jump from Joplin, Missouri. Not every talent makes that leap — and fewer make it stick. Nunnelly’s move from a small market to one of the country’s most competitive radio cities says something. Hubbard Seattle clearly saw enough to take the shot.
That kind of market jump doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a specific combination of talent, timing, and the right people paying attention. Cat Thomas and Nick Beyer didn’t just fill a slot — they made a calculated bet on upside. For Nunnelly, this is the opportunity most radio people spend careers chasing.
Seattle is a different animal than Joplin. The audience is larger, the competition is fiercer, and the margin for error is thin. If Nunnelly can translate what worked in a smaller market into something that resonates at scale, the payoff could be significant. That’s a big if — but Hubbard Seattle is clearly banking on yes.
