Red Apple Media to Purchase 1700 WRCR, Will Simulcast 77 WABC Temporarily

The purchase of an additional station for Red Apple Media comes after owner John Catsimatidis has continually asserted that the company had deals in place to expand its holdings in the radio industry.

Date:

Red Apple Media, the parent company of 77 WABC in New York, has purchased 1700 WRCR in suburban Rockland County, New York.

The deal became official late last week. Previously, WRCR was simulcasting 77 WABC programming while it awaited a move to a new studio. However, it was later revealed that the station had been purchased by Red Apple Media.
