0

Alex Curry has joined the sports team at KTLA in Los Angeles as a part-time sports anchor and reporter. Curry made her on-air debut for the Nexstar-owned news network on Sunday, delivering sports reports throughout the newscast, and she was also on the air Monday as well. While she is working with The CW-affiliated station, Curry will also continue her other roles hosting the Saturday football show on FOX Sports Radio and filling in on FS1 programming.

KTLA Sports airs its Sports Final report during the week at 10:45 p.m. PST, while doing so on the weekends at 11:35 p.m. PST. The network covers sports throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. Throughout Sunday night, Curry discussed several storylines in the area, including the Los Angeles Rams winning the NFC West division and a trade by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Curry joins the KTLA Sports team that features various sports anchors and reporters, including Derrin Horton, Steve Hartman, David Pingalore and Krystle Rich-Bell. KTLA is also slated to broadcast five more LA Clippers games on over-the-air television, marking the 16th season in which games will air live on the network. The new role will see Curry cover the teams she grew up watching in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and Southern California region.

Curry currently hosts FOX Sports Saturday on FOX Sports Radio with Carmen Vitali and has filled in across various shows on FS1, including The Herd with Colin Cowherd. Over parts of the last three MLB seasons, she was the co-host of the Flippin’ Bats show alongside Ben Verlander. Prior to this, Curry was a reporter for the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Kings on the FOX Sports West regional sports network, currently branded as FanDuel Sports Network West. Curry, who is a graduate of San Diego State University, has also worked in media roles for ESPN, E! News, Fuel TV and the Big Ten Network throughout her career.

Woman Alleges She Was Lured To Sean Combs Party Through Radio Station Contest

0

The legal challenges confronting rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs continue to mount.

A new lawsuit has been filed against Combs, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted a woman at a party in New York. The plaintiff claims she was “lured” to the event through a radio station contest.

Latroya Grayson lodged the complaint, alleging that she and her half-sibling traveled from Oklahoma to New York in October 2006. The trip was made possible after a relative of Grayson won a contest for two tickets to attend one of Sean Combs’ parties from Perry Broadcasting Company’s Urban Contemporary station, K-Jamz 105.3 (KJMM) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Grayson, 23 at the time, claims she experienced illness and lost consciousness after being served two premade drinks by waitresses, as outlined in a complaint filed earlier this month in the Southern District of New York.

Upon regaining consciousness in a hospital, she reported her shirt was torn, her underwear and shoes were missing, and she had no recollection of the events that transpired. According to the complaint, the individual refrained from seeking medical attention or notifying law enforcement due to fear.

In her lawsuit, Grayson alleges that she received a threatening phone call from an unidentified woman who urged her to remain silent, claiming that it would be “futile” to pursue any matters related to the alleged assault.

Grayson has filed a lawsuit against several parties, including Combs; Bad Boy Entertainment Holdings; Atlantic Records, which she alleges facilitated the event; Mike Savas, a former promoter for Atlantic; Delta Airlines, which provided her transportation to New York; KJMM, the Tulsa radio station that conducted the contest; and the Roger Smith Hotel, where she was accommodated.

In a statement, attorneys representing Combs described Grayson’s allegations as “pure fiction.”

“Ms. Grayson admits she has no memory of the events alleged in her complaint, does not know who was supposedly involved, and has never spoken to Mr. Combs,” the statement said.

“As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every baseless lawsuit and lawyer-driven money grab,” He has faith in the judicial process, in which fact will be separated from opportunistic fabrications like these,” said the statement from Combs attorneys.

Combs is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is facing federal charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking, and additional offenses. Combs has entered a plea of not guilty. The trial is set to commence on May 5.

FOX Sports Draws an Average of 26.4 Million Viewers for Vikings-Packers Week 17 Matchup

0

As the NFL season comes down to the wire, the viewership numbers are continuing to be sky high, especially for matchups featuring two teams heavily in the mix. Such was the case on Sunday when FOX Sports had the matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings won the game 27-25 but led 27-7 at the end of three quarters. The Packers put up 15 points in the final quarter including a 3-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Malik Heath, but it wasn’t enough to keep Minnesota from moving to 14-2 on the season.

The game drew an average audience of 26.4 million viewers to FOX Sports. That made it the most-watched event of the week on any network. The game was a slight increase in audience size from the comparable window last season.

FOX Sports had their No. 1 broadcasting team of Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi on site for the game. This coming weekend, Week 18, the top team will call the game between the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa can clinch the NFC South with a win or a tie or if the Atlanta Falcons lose to or tie the Carolina Panthers. The top game in the NFC between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings will be played at night on NBC.

NBC ‘Sunday Night Football’ Averages 19.7 Million Viewers for Commanders-Falcons

0

This past weekend, the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons faced off in a pivotal prime time matchup on Sunday Night Football, which aired live on NBC and Peacock. Consumption of the game was measured at a total audience delivery of 19.7 million viewers, according to data from Nielsen Media Research and Adobe Analytics. As a result, the game is the most-watched Week 17 of Sunday Night Football since the season finale between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in 2019. Compared to last year’s Week 17 matchup with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, which averaged 18.28 million viewers, this game delivered an 7.7% increase.

The matchup made history with Jayden Daniels and Michael Penix Jr. becoming the first rookie quarterbacks to start against one another in a prime time NFL game. Daniels delivered the game-winning touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz in overtime to secure the team’s first playoff berth since 2020, sending the capacity crowd at Northwest Stadium into a frenzy. Play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico, analyst Cris Collinsworth and reporter Melissa Stark were on the call for the penultimate regular-season game under the property this season.

NBC Sports will broadcast the NFC North title game featuring the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings this Sunday, Jan. 5 at 8:20 p.m. EST with a first-round bye and home-field advantage on the line. The winner of the matchup will become the ninth team in NFL history to finish the regular season with 15 or more wins, while the other team will hold the most wins for any wild-card team in league history. This will also be the first regular-season matchup in NFL history between two teams who each have 14 victories.

NBC Sports has compiled its most-watched year of programming since 2016, with more than 32 shows securing audiences of 20 million viewers or more. Throughout the year, NFL coverage garnered several milestones, including the Peacock exclusive AFC Wild Card broadcast that was the most-streamed event in U.S. history at the time. The Sunday Night Football broadcast property finished last television season as the No. 1 show in prime time across key metrics for a 13th consecutive year.
