Radio and online coverage of USC’s 2014 football games will be the school’s most wide-ranging ever, including comprehensive pre- and post-game shows.
Game broadcasts will again be on ESPNLA 710 Radio and will begin with a pre-game show four hours prior to kickoff, with longtime Trojan voice Pete Arbogast joined by Steve Mason and Harvey Hyde for the first half of the show and then Mason, former USC football/baseball Academic All-American John Jackson and Trojan social media director Jordan Moore taking over until kickoff. Arbogast (play-by-play), Jackson (analyst) and Moore (sideline) will handle the game broadcast, as they did last season. For two hours after the game, locker room interviews with head coach Steve Sarkisian and various players will be followed by a post-game show hosted by a pair of former Trojan standouts new to the USC broadcast this year: football All-AmericanShaun Cody and volleyballer Kelli Tennant.
For USC home games, the pre- and post-game shows will originate from the America’s Tire Stage outside the Coliseum peristyle and will feature special guests, former players and coaches, and fan interaction. USC men’s basketball play-by-play announcer Chris Fisher will fill in for Tennant when she has broadcasting conflicts, while Ron Pivo will substitute on the pre-game show for Arbogast during road games.
The ESPNLA 710 Radio game broadcast also can be heard live on six other stations on the Trojan Radio Network–KSPA-AM 1510 in Ontario/San Bernardino County/Inland Empire, KXPS-AM 1010 in Palm Springs, KSZL-AM 1230 in Barstow, KSHP-AM 1400 in Las Vegas, KALZ-FM 96.7 in Fresno and KRZR-AM 1400 in Visalia–as well as on USCTrojans.com and ESPNLA.com, and on SiriusXM satellite radio. Fans also can use the TuneIn Radio app to listen to the live broadcast on their mobile, desktop or home devices.
All USC home games except the Colorado contest also will air live on ESPN Radio on up to 280 ESPN affiliates nationally, with the announcers to be named.
At 8 a.m. on Sundays following football games, ESPNLA 710 Radio will air the two-hour “Trojan Brunch” show, hosted by Arbogast and Hyde.
Also, the popular “Trojans Live” show returns for its second season on the new All-Sports KFWB 980 radio station, with Jackson and Moore as the hosts. The hour-long program airs Tuesdays at 6 p.m. from The Lab gastropub across the street from USC and features weekly in-season interviews with Sarkisian, as well as with coaches and student-athletes from various Trojan teams. It also streams live on USCTrojans.com, KFWB.com and FOXSportsWest.com, can be heard via the TuneIn app and is archived on YouTube.com/USCAthletics.
USC’s innovative online TunnelVision pre-game show, which emanates from the base of the Coliseum tunnel and features pre-game analysis, coach and player interviews and special featurettes, will run during the hour prior to kickoff. It will air live on USCTrojans.com and also will be shown live on the Coliseum videoboard. Hosts Katie Boggs and Danny Page will be joined on an alternating basis by three members of USC’s 2004 national championship team: Cody, Lawrence Jackson and Thomas Williams.
“We are pleased to continue our valued partnerships with both ESPNLA 710 and KFWB 980,” said Dan Shell, general manager/vice president of USC Sports Properties. “We have added compelling, behind-the-scenes content for Trojan fans tuning in to our games on the radio and online, with an exceptional lineup of broadcast talent complementing the shows.”
