Tessitore To Call Thursday Night Football On ESPN

ESPN has released its college football announce teams for the 2015 season, with Joe Tessitore replacing Rece Davis in more than one role.

Tessitore will serve as play-by-play announcer for ESPN’s Thursday night national telecasts this season, alongside analysts Jesse Palmer and David Pollack and reporter Kaylee Hartung. Tessitore was previously announced as the new host of the Saturday night College Football Final studio show, also replacing Davis, who is taking over as anchor of the ESPN College Game Day pre-game show from long-time host Chris Fowler.

Tessitore also served as anchor of the SEC Nation pre-game show on the SEC Network last season, and will apparently continue to do so this year. He also executive produced the 2011 ESPN documentary “Roll Tide, War Eagle.”

Former Texas coach Mack Brown is also moving into the booth, joining play-by-play man Dave Flemming and reporter Allison Williams on ESPN’s Friday night telecasts. Brown will continue to serve as a Saturday studio analyst on ABC.

The other ESPN/ABC announce teams remain largely the same, including Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Heather Cox on ABC’s Saturday Night Football telecast and Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe on ESPN’s College Football Primetime game. Brent Musburger, Jesse Palmer and Maria Taylor remain the No. 1 announce team for the SEC Network.
