Brady Hoke To Host On SiriusXM

Former Michigan football coach Brady Hoke said in February he planned to take the year off from coaching.

Now we know what he’ll do to stay around the game.

SiriusXM announced today that Hoke will co-host a twice-weekly radio show “SiriusXM College Sports Today” with Mark Packer, debuting Aug. 18, from 4-7 p.m.

“SiriusXM College Sports Nation is an outstanding place for those of us who have been involved in the game to connect with fans and talk about everything happening in the world of college football,” Hoke said in a statement. “I’m excited to join the SiriusXM team and begin working with Mark Packer.”

Hoke was fired by U-M on Dec. 2, despite posting a 31-20 record at Michigan in four seasons. His record dipped each season, ending with a 5-7 mark in 2014. He was replaced Dec. 30 by Jim Harbaugh.

Hoke reappeared in February, when there were reports on National Signing Day that he would work as a Notre Dame assistant, but he quickly shot that down later that daywhen he appeared on the CBS Sports Network’s signing day coverage.

In the spring, he made a few visits to watch other teams’ spring practices, and has left the Ann Arbor area, as his house was sold recently for $2.75 million.

Part of Hoke’s buyout stated that he had to make a reasonable attempt to gain employment as a coach or media commentator on college football to receive the buyout he was owed.

Apparently, he satisfied that requirement.
