Sharks Sign New Radio Deal With K-FOX

Classic rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX will remain the radio flagship of the San Jose Sharks under a multi-year contract extension between the Entercom station and the NHL franchise. KUFX has carried the team’s games since the 2000-01 season.

Along with carrying all regular season and playoff games, KUFX will air the 30-minute “Sharks Warm-Up” pre-game show and the “Sharks Extra” post-game wrap-up. The arrangement also calls for the Sharks Radio Network to provide additional feature material to both KUFX and San Francisco sister “95.7 The Game” KGMZ during the hockey season.

Now in his 25th consecutive year as the “Voice of the Sharks,” Dan Rusanowsky will again call the play-by-play action and the pre-game and post-game shows. Bret Hedican, the Stanley Cup champion, returns to provide color commentary for about 50 of the team’s 82 regular season games.

Rusanowsky will also appear at 7:40 on Monday mornings with “Sharks Territory,” a team-oriented segment during Chris Jackson’s KUFX morning show. He will also provide a game-day feature, “The Teal Report,” which will air on “The Game” and online at sjsharks.com, as well as morning Sharks news updates for both stations.
