Rangers Add Dave Raymond To Broadcast Team

The Rangers’ aging broadcast teams got a shot of youth Tuesday when the team announced former Astros broadcaster Dave Raymond will join its television and radio booths for 2016.

Raymond, 43, is expected to work 43 games of play-by-play on Fox Sports Southwest, mostly filling in for analyst Tom Grieve. Steve Busby will slide over to Grieve’s analyst’s seat to make way for Raymond. It is expected most will be road games.

In addition, Raymond, who was primarily a radio broadcaster for the Astros from 2006 to 2012, is expected to work a dozen games in place Eric Nadel on Rangers radio.
